We’ve noticed that there are a lot of “free” shopping carts that are not free. However, because we are building this out as a Web 2.0 appliance, we can definitely support a large number of clients who sign on, if simply to use the “under 250 products” version: it will remain free.
We are also focused on making the application easy enough to use so that the customer could connect all the dots. We are happy with the results. Of the 260+ people who have signed up in the past 10 days, just short of 90% are building their online catalog on a consistent basis.
Additionally, we have a couple of people who are maniacs for back-office functionality. They will be driving service way past the “shopping cart” to a full set of business applications, all the while remaining focused on the small business looking to go online.
